Good crust but too much cloves were used in the recipe. I suggest you reduce the quantity of ground cloves and add some nutmeg.

The tourtiere is a nice change of pace flavour-wise from the other ground meat based pies. It has those fragrant spices (cloves, cinnamon, thyme, etc) reminiscent of sausage. Inside a butter crust, mixed with small potato cubes, it is a satisfying, casual entree for winter.

The tourtiere was amply filled just like in the website picture. The contents were aromatic and delicious. Well done! Every bit eaten! Expensive but worth every penny! One of our guests said it was the best tourtiere he ever had.
I would like to see a no-pork tourtiere, though, as another of our guests cannot eat pork for religious reasons. We had to buy a separate turkey pie for her.

We had the tourtière on Christmas Eve, and it was super delicious! It was rich and flavourful and the perfect way to cap a long day outside.

My boyfriend who is québécois and a real foodie gave this Tourtiere 10/10! The pastry was so flaky, the filling so perfectly spiced… will definitely buy this again and again.

I have eaten many meat pies throughout the years, homemade and premade. This was absolutely the best! Tasted like Quebec …..and the crust was perfect. Fed 6 of us really well. We’ve just had it for Christmas morning, and it was amazing! I will definitely be ordering from the pie hole again.

Sweet and savoury pies are all delish. We’ve had the tourtiere for Christmas Eve several times and it never disappoints.

I ordered the tourtiere hand pies and they were quite a hefty size and ver filling. As usual crust was amazing. My family thought the filling could use more flavour, but I loved it. Tasted just like the tourtiere I’ve had in Quebec.

Our first taste from the Pie Hole. Apple pie was seasoned to perfection with a beautiful filling blended of sweet and tart along with a light long finish of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg. Tourtiere was made of a nicely spiced filling with an outstanding flaky yummy crust. We’ll be ordering again!

Tourtière has been a long time family tradition for Christmas Eve. This was our first time ordering from The Pie Hole and you did not disappoint! The pies were hearty and delicious, just the right spices! Will look forward to trying other pies!

In terms of flavour, we enjoyed this pie. My French-Canadian husband felt it tasted a lot like creton. The texture was a bit different than he/we are used to, it us a lot finer than we have had in the past. Not sure we would repeat this one, but we would like to try some other pies here.

Saw the shop on Triple D. The 30 kilometer drive was worth it. We have tried three different pies so far and all were great.

My mother in law made this every year for Christmas Eve dinner. I have never been able to make it very well and now I don’t have to! The Pie Hole version is amazing, delicious and perfection!

As a huge fan of your pies so far, although mostly for other people I decided to try your tourtière.
After tasting a friend’ home made tourtière in Montreal and loving it and then rediscovering here at Cafe de Salade de Fruits I decided to try it from TPH. It was $10 more expensive than CSdeF but sadly, not nearly as good. It seemed quite fatty and the seasoning was the only flavour. The best part was the always incredibly delicious pastry. I don’t plan on buying this again.

This pie was loaded with filling and the crust was amazing as always. It was a little too savoury for my husband and I though, not sure if it was the sage or the thyme we would have preferred a little less. Look forward to the next pie!

This was by far the best tourtiere I've had. I have bought a lot from different stores in Vancouver. Very savory, lots of meat and flavor. I generally do not like pie crust as they are pasty, but this one made me realize what a good crust is like. Thank you for making such a good product. This will be my go to pie shop.

The pie was utterly delicious! My only complaint (and I have experienced this in the past, too) is that you have that handy little table on the box where you can fill in the temp and time to reheat, but you don’t seem to use it. It would be incredibly helpful if you could.

The chicken pot pie crust was so flaky and had plenty of filling. It was the best chicken pot pie I've had and I would order it again and again!

I knew it would be delicious as it was going from frozen to cooked in the oven.The sumptuous smell mixed with the mulled apple cider on the stove make for a cozy dinner. I got 5 of the hand pies, going to give a few as gifts

For the first time we tried your Tourtiere and it was absolutely wonderful! The filling had a unique blend of spices with the beef/pork filling and the crust simply melted in the mouth. A refreshing change from Holiday turkey/chicken.

Having left the east a few years ago, I found myself having a huge craving for tourtiere over the past few weeks. I was looking for Quebec shops that would ship frozen ones to Vancouver when I noticed the Pie Hole were selling them. Oh happy day!! I ordered the five frozen handheld ones and was very pleased to find they were just as good as I remembered from home! I hope to purchase more before they go out of season! So glad to be able to get them locally. Thank you so much for the delicious pies!!!

My grandma was French Canadian and use to make traditional Quebecois Tortiere Pies every Christmas. She passed away when I was a teenager almost 20 years ago. I have had many pies since then, but this is the closest to Grandma’s. It is absolutely delicious and authentic. Well done The Pie Hole. Well done.

The taste of the tourtiere was excellent! The all spice really came through with the meat and gave it a really nice aroma. I'm a big crust guy and I find a lot of the pies always skimp out on the crust, leaving the pies sloppy. But this crust really held it together and kept the flakey/buttery texture. Love it. Will definitely be ordering from Pie Hole again!

This is one of the best tourtières that I have had in a long time. Very authentic. The crust is flaky and buttery. The filling is perfectly spiced and seasoned with quality ingredients. A definite wintery comfort food.

I loved the tourtiere! I had a french friend whose dad made tourtiere and I feel this was just as good. I love it has no potatoes and is pure meat. I feel like when potatoes are added the maker is just being cheap. Great job!

The tourtiere was nicely seasoned, the filling wasn't dry when reheated and the crust was flaky and buttery! It was a perfect dish to have on cold, rainy Vancouver day.

My whole family loves the tortiere pies from The Pie Hole, and the mini hand pies are a healthy and easy lunch option for my kids. They think it's a treat and I think it's a treat not to have to make more lunches.

I was invited to Christmas Dinner at a neighbor and as one of her guests was from Quebec, she asked me to try and find a Toutiere for dinner and after some research decided to order a bakeaway from The Pie Hole. I used their online platform, which is very easy to navigate and full of useful information. The selection of pies is quite remarkable, both sweet and savoury, which can be ordered frozen unbaked or baked. I opted for frozen. Both the website and the package provide baking instructions.

I baked the Toutiere for the suggested 120 minutes from frozen and served it from the oven. It was excellent and passed muster with our Québécois guest! Nicely flavoured filling, good quality ingredients and wonderful pastry crust!

Besides the 9” Toutiere for our Christmas Dinner, I also ordered smaller 5” pies - a Chicken Pot Pie, a Beef Bourguignon Pie and a Turkey Dinner Pie. Both the Chicken Pot Pie and the Beef Bourguignon Pie were excellent, but I did not enjoy the Turkey Dinner Pie, despite it being a Staff Pick. There was nothing wrong with it, but it was not to my taste.

While The Pie Hole products are not inexpensive, the quality is there and I will be back for those special occasions!

This pie was delicious. Perfect amount of perfectly spiced meat to crust. The leftovers reheated really well. Can't wait to try some of your other pies.

Delicious! Purchased the fresh pie...baked the day after pick up. The flavour of the seasoned meat was very good and the amount of the meat filling was plentiful. We had the leftovers 2 nights later and it reheated easily...did not dry out...equally good as first night! Would order again.

We ordered a small mince pie and a 9" Tourtière - both were tasty pies. Flavours were spot on, a good amount of spice. I especially liked the citrus-forward flavours in the mince pie which helped to counter the sweetness. I would order both again especially the Tourtière (seasonal) it was packed with meat that was juicy and moist...yum!

Absolutely delicious. The pastry was the best I have ever tasted!
